AYRSHIRE MEMBERS' CENTRE

The Ayrshire Members' Centre has a programme of meetings throughout the year. The programme for March to June 2008 is given below.

All events take place at The Citadel Leisure Centre, South Harbour Street, Ayr unless otherwise specified. Tea and Coffee is served at 7pm and talks start at 7.30pm.

All visitors are welcome at no cost.

Friday 28th March 2008

John Rattenbury is organising a walk taking a look at the industrial archaeology of Muirkirk.
Meet 11am in Muirkirk. Further details will be given nearer the date.

Thursday 17th April 2008

"Ayrshire Smugglers" by Denis Rattenbury.
An insight into those night workers who used the Ayrshire Coast for smuggling. Today we perhaps have a romanticised view of smugglers, but we should remember these were tough, ruthless men who would not let anything get in their way.
