ABERDEEN & DISTRICT MEMBERS' CENTRE

The Aberdeen and District Members' Centre has been in existence for more than 40 years. Its membership stands at more than 290. The Centre draws its support from Aberdeen city and the surrounding districts.

The Centre organises a varied programme of evening and afternoon lectures, social evenings and day excursions within and outwith the Region. In addition the Members' Centre gives financial and practical support to Drum Castle and Castle Fraser. Evening lectures are held in Aberdeenshire Cricket Club while afternoon lectures are held in the Maritime Museum. The programme for October 2017 to March 2018 is given below.

Evening meetings are held in Aberdeenshire Cricket Club, Manofield and afternoon meetings in the Aberdeen Maritime Museum unless otherwise stated

Friday 13 October 2017, 7.00pm for 7.30pm (*)
A musical evening at Drum Castle, followed by a finger buffet.
Wednesday 25 October 2017, 2.00pm
"Aberdeenshire a new perspective", a talk by Andy Hall at Aberdeen Maritime Museum.
Thursday 23 November 2017, 7.30pm
A talk by Tom Ironside (cabinetmaker/furniture restorer) at Aberdeenshire Cricket Club.
Friday 8 December 2017, 7.00pm for 7.30pm (*)
"A cacophony of Christmas sounds" at Aberdeenshire Cricket Club, followed by a fork supper.
Tuesday 16 January 2018, 2.00pm
A talk on the redevelopment of Aberdeen Art Gallery (speaker tbc) at Aberdeen Maritime Museum.
Wednesday 21 February 2018, 2.00pm
"The Gordon Highlanders in WW1" (speaker tbc) at Aberdeen Maritime Museum.
Thursday 22 March 2018, 7.30pm
AGM at Aberdeenshire Cricket Club, followed by "Cruising along the coasts of New Zealand & Australia", a talk by Finlay McKichan.

Events are organised for Aberdeen and District Members' Centre members only. Other members of the National Trust for Scotland are very welcome to attend the lecture meetings as an introduction to the Centre. There is a charge for guests attending lecture meetings.
