ABERDEEN & DISTRICT MEMBERS' CENTRE

The Aberdeen and District Members' Centre has been in existence for more than 40 years. Its membership stands at more than 290. The Centre draws its support from Aberdeen city and the surrounding districts.

The Centre organises a varied programme of evening and afternoon lectures, social evenings and day excursions within and outwith the Region. In addition the Members' Centre gives financial and practical support to Drum Castle and Castle Fraser. Evening lectures are held in Aberdeenshire Cricket Club while afternoon lectures are held in the Maritime Museum. The programme for September 2019 to June 2020 is given below.

Evening meetings are held in Aberdeenshire Cricket Club, Mannofield and afternoon meetings in the Aberdeen Maritime Museum unless otherwise stated

Tuesday 17 September 2019 at 7.30pm
Talk by Finlay McKichan "Lord Seaforth: Highland landowner, Caribbean governor and slave owner" at the Aberdeenshire Cricket Club, Morningside Road. Opening night so please bring a friend for free.
Wednesday 9 October 2019 at 2.00pm
Talk by Simon Welfare "Bankers, baronets, cowboys and chorus girls – the rise and fall of the family of Ishbel Marjoribanks, wife of the 1st Marquess of Aberdeen" at the Aberdeen Maritime Museum, Shiprow.
Friday 11 October 2019 at 7.30pm
Light operatic renditions "The Two xxxxxx" at Drum Castle, Aberdeenshire.
Thursday 14 November 2019 at 7.30pm
Talk by Ian Mitchell Davidson "Understanding Braemar Castle" at the Aberdeenshire Cricket Club, Morningside Road.

Musical evening with supper at the Aberdeenshire Cricket Club, Morningside Road.

Talk by John Dunn MBE "The Boddom Loon" at the Aberdeen Maritime Museum, Shiprow.
Thursday 13 February 2020 at 2.00pm
Talk by Dr Fiona-Jane Brown "Forgotten Fittie" at the Aberdeen Maritime Museum, Shiprow.
Tuesday 17 March 2020 at 7.30pm
Annual general meeting followed by a talk by Gordon Murdoch "Join the National Trust….. and see the world" at the Aberdeenshire Cricket Club, Morningside Road.

Annual holiday.

Events are organised for Aberdeen and District Members' Centre members only. Other members of the National Trust for Scotland are very welcome to attend the lecture meetings as an introduction to the Centre. There is a charge for guests attending lecture meetings.
